The Village of Pinckney will be beginning its annual sanitary sewer cleaning throughout the Village. This routine maintenance is performed to help keep the sewer system operating properly, reduce the potential for blockages, and identify any areas that may require additional maintenance.

During this work, residents may notice sewer-cleaning crews and equipment working throughout town. Cleaning activities may cause some temporary noise, traffic disruptions, or brief delays in certain areas.

Residents may also experience temporary effects inside their homes, including:

  • Gurgling or bubbling sounds from toilets, sinks, or floor drains.
  • A temporary sewer odor.
  • Water movement or slight changes in water levels in toilets or drains.
  • In some cases, a small amount of water may be displaced through a floor drain or plumbing fixture.

To help minimize the possibility of water or odors entering your home, residents are encouraged to make sure floor drains and other plumbing traps contain water and that toilet lids are closed during sewer-cleaning activities.

The Village will make every effort to complete the work safely and efficiently while minimizing inconvenience to residents. If you notice an unusual sewer issue following cleaning activities, please contact the Village so the situation can be investigated.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we complete this important annual maintenance.

Sincerely,
